I have developed my art work over the past few years and use the medium of print and stitch, I hand print the image onto natural fabrics either linen, cotton or silk.
The inspiration for my work is taken from nature, in particular the imperfections in leaves and seeing how I can embellish these with either hand or machine stitch and occasionally bead work. I also take inspiration from wood blocks and feathers and enjoy exploring how these can be embellished with stitch.
I looking at each each piece individually and look at its features to see where the imperfections lie and how these can be enhanced. The beadwork is predominately placed in sections where the leaf has started to decay and I see this as enhancing the beauty of a natural form.
