Not drawn to photographic reality I prefer the magical unpredictability of water and pigment left to its own devices with very little intervention on my part. I currently favour expressive intuitive landscapes and have almost entirely abandoned traditional brushwork in favour of liquid watercolour, or pure pigment to paper, then water manipulation in several forms and bamboo pen or palette knife marks. My inspiration is mainly drawn from the beautiful riverside village in which I live, but away from home I am drawn to wild landscapes and shorelines
