Rita originally studied printed textile design and fine print at Manchester Polytechnic and works mostly in mixed media and watercolour. Paintings, mainly in acrylic inks on a textured or collaged ground, are developed from observational drawings or colour studies made on site, backed up by location photographs. Themes include landscapes, natural forms, trees, rock pools and rock formations.
