Clare Stephens creates vessels, interacting with others, materials and objects, mirrored in curation. She appreciates clays materiality, and tacit knowledge from countless generations of ceramicists and potters. Enhanced by her use of varied clays, making and firing techniques, technical, material knowledge and form connect being part of timeless interactions with all societies and cultures. Interacting with clay, parallels aspects within Clare’s previous midwifery career, explored during an MA in 2023, providing wholeness to her work.
