Johannes Roux works with reclaimed or naturally fallen local wood to create one-off pieces that focus on the beauty and characteristics of the wood, embracing and celebrating imperfection. He takes inspiration from shapes in nature and from the rich history of vessels produced by human civilisations over centuries. Many pieces are turned on the lathe, often enhanced by subsequent carving. Offcuts often find their way into unique pieces of jewellery.
