Wren Edgar
Origami
Leaf & Ground
Wren is captivated by the intricate patterns and organic forms found in nature. Her practice explores these themes through a diverse range of three-dimensional media including origami, clay, concrete, wire, paper, and natural dyes. While studying at Stroud School of Art, she developed her origami skills to create delicate kinetic sculptures and innovative foldable structures; designed for portability and potential use as shelters in disaster zones. This work earned Wren a place at the Welsh School of Architecture where she further developed her design skills and completed her degree in Architectural Studies.
This year, Wren presents a series of origami sculptures crafted from a variety of materials, including hand-printed and naturally dyed papers, continuing her exploration of the intersection between art, design, and sustainability.
